A gift for a 2-year old...

Aidan was inspired one night when I asked if any of the kids wanted to make something for friends of ours that were going to celebrate their daughter's 2nd bday. Aidan came up with the idea, found the fabric, cut it all and then came to me (Mel) asking for instructions on how to sew it together. It's a soft cube with each of the (six) letters of the recipient's name on the sides.  And then, Aidan wrote a card in his cursive writing - something he's learning about in school right now.

Bear Pillow/Stuffy

Aidan was determined to make a stuffed animal (also a pillow...which you will notice is a theme in Aidan's choices!). This is a patchwork-ed bear - can you tell?

Student of the Week 2012

Each student in his Grade 3 class takes a turn at being "Student of the Week". For Aidan's week, he decided to share a bit about himself on a fabric collage. In the end as the project evolved, we made it into a (rather large) pillow case.

Rocket Pillow

Aidan made a stuff rocket that doubles as a pillow....with a flame and a pocket (as seen below).
